Brian Scott and Jenny Hughes began their
IT lives in the 1970's. With degrees majoring in computer science,
we gained extensive experience in Australia's largest and most complex
computer installation. In both technical and management roles,
we developed expertise in mainframe, UNIX, personal computing and
networks.
In 1998, we established Bunya Technology, as a vehicle for taking
our expertise to a broader range of customers.
Our corporate customers have included
- Telstra
- IBM
- Ansett
- CGU Insurance
- Request DSL
We have had a long term association with CMG
Australia, a professional body for IT practitioners involved
in computer management. Both Jenny and Brian presented award-winning
papers to the national conference and served on the Victorian committee.
A desire to shift from the city to the beautiful Kiewa valley meant
a shift in business focus as well. In 2003, we changed our focus
from corporate consultancy to teaching. To our degrees, we added
teaching qualifications: Graduate Diploma in Vocational Education
and Training for Brian and Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment
and Training for Jenny.
Brian teaches Network Mangement at TAFE. He is also involved in
curriculum development for Information Technology through NSW Department
of Education and Training.
Jenny teaches cooking, digital photography and information technology,
primarily at Mt Beauty Neighbourhood Centre.
An increasing number of friends and acquaintances have sought our
help in taming technology in their lives and businesses. In 2006,
we decided to acknowledge this demand and market a fuller range
of services.
